With a surface area of 77,000km2, the region of Tafilalet in south-eastern Morocco is home to the largest oasis in the world.

This paradisiacal oasis is located in the middle of the desert, and forms a group of oases which are a natural jewel in the south east of the Kingdom.

The immense and endless oasis lies in the hollow of the Ziz and Ghéris valleys and are framed like a work of art by barren and arid mountains.

The Hassan Addakhil dam regulates the water in the rivers and provides regular irrigation. Numerous hives provide honey, which are found in delicious oriental cakes.
