TODRA PALM GROVES
Abundantly irrigated by a network of pipes known as seguias, the groves are irrigated by the Todra river which runs through them as well as by the water table present a few meters below the surface.
A true oasis of freshness during hot summer days, there are countless palm trees and fruit trees such as apple, pear, pomegranate, fig, almond and peaches.
Each plot is carefully maintained and corn, mint, pumpkins and alfalfa are also grown. It is a real pleasure to walk there, after reaching this Garden of Eden on foot or by bike.
From its source which emerges from the rocks of the Todra Gorge, the water of the river is distributed throughout the palm grove by means of irrigation canals operational even during heat waves and drought elsewhere in the country.
