BORJ NORD
Borj Nord was a Saadian fort built north of Fez Al Bali in 1582 during the reign of Sultan Ahmed Al Mansour.
Inspired by the architecture of Portuguese fortresses of the 16th century, it was one of the largest surveillance posts in the city.
Nowadays, the Borj Nord houses the Arms Museum. The weapons displayed there date from prehistoric times to the present day and are presented chronologically, from stone cut ones to cannons, and weapons of all types and nationalities.
The visitor can see, among others, axes, halberds, spades, spears, sabres, swords, Iranian helmets, saddles with their ornamentation as well as rifles, pistols, revolvers and cannons of all types.
