THE NATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN

The Zoo invites you to discover snakes, lions, monkeys and lemurs amongst others. The national zoological park is located northwest of Tamara. The park helps protect more than 2,000 animals, including 1,120 birds. The zoo is the most visited place in Morocco.

It has rare specimens which have been saved from extinction thanks to the zoo.

The zoo is often at the centre of species reintroduction programs since it has the skills to help in the captive breeding of species extinct in the wild or those that are endangered.

Several of them, classified on the red list, are found in Morocco: the bald ibis, the Atlas lion, the monk seal, the fennec and the bald vulture.
