PORT OF ESSAOUIRA

You can’t visit the city of Essaouira without discovering its port.
It is one of the liveliest places in town. A large part of the local economy revolves around fishing.
It’s therefore a great moment when the boats return to port. The fish is then sold at auction and the show is really worth lingering for. In addition, the seagulls come out in force for their lunch.
On the quays you can also see boats built entirely of wood using traditional techniques and methods.
