FIGUIG OASIS

Formerly, from the 14th to the 16th century, Figuig comprised a long, very prosperous territory extending to southeast Morocco, along the border with Algeria.
Today, the oasis of Figuig, located in the heart of a mountainous circuit on the threshold of the great Saharan erg, is a union of 7 Ksars, distributed in two adjoining palm groves.
There are six in the North on the Loudaghir plateau, including that of El Hammam-el-Foukani, while in the South the Ksar of Zenaga on the plain of Baghdad is the largest, accounting for a third of the oasis population estimated at 15,000 inhabitants.
