Gorge Of Oued El Abid

GORGE OF OUED EL ABID

The Oued el Abid, main tributary of the Oum Errabia river, has dug deep gorges of 400 to 600m in the western part of the Middle Atlas whose walls stand red and steep, but the bottom of which cannot be seen.

The narrow tarmac road (P 3105), built on a ledge above the vertical walls, abruptly descends in impressive bends towards the river, which it crosses on a metal bridge from where you can see the entrance to the canyon.
