CHAPEL OF THE PORTUGUESE CATHEDRAL

This was built by the Portuguese in 1519 in the Manueline style.
During his retreat from the city in 1541, King Emmanuel ordered its destruction.
Only the core of the chapel and its vaulting were preserved.
